Moody patterns held together by concrete..simple things, grey skies and field of grass. Leah faure is an artist that paints the things she sees everyday in the city that she loves Portland. Leah spent the beginning of her art career wandering the streets of Portland's east side industrial area. There she developed a love of patterns created by decorative architectural molding to buildings set in rows or cast shadows on a midsummer day.
She expresses this love through the medium of oil painting and drawing. Drawn to scenes with strong perspectiveor complicated overlaying patterns. Things that presents a riddle or challenge. Visual challenge like these are a welcome distraction and topic of many of Leah's art work.
