Documenting the old industrial sections of Portland is a passion of mine. I like to reflect on the architectural detail lovingly included in this working area. The mold of a window, a painted trim, is the minimal and utilitarian acknowledgment of being part of the aesthetic. The bridge structure stimulates interest through interchanging light pattern and kaleidoscope perspective. The column ribs evoke an embrace, like the strong rafters of a cathedral. Patterns of windows and light complete the opportunities for abstract adornment of this industrial area.
The repeating pattern of branches I find very comforting. It creates a steady rhythm for the eye and a weightless space. White flowers are deceptive containing many opportunities for colors in their under tones and reflections. Following the Japanese example of minimal composition of nature arrives a serene result.
I love the patterns of flowers, branches and grass. Request and commissions available for flowers.
My House Portrait commissions are available! ~ Sweet and sentimental, I have always loved painting house portraits. A home is one of the closest things in our lives, it holds memories and brings us together. DM me with questions.
One of my first House Portrait commissions, a beautiful house in NE Portland
This is a fun commission I did for a graphic design company. It captures the wonderful place, as well as portraits of them at their work stations. :)
Portraits are such a joy to do. I really enjoy capturing the likeness of the subject. The time for a basic portrait, usually is one and half hour with the sitter followed by a finish in my studio.
Portraits available, even at 6 feet apart !!
Print are available of many of my paintings. Please send questions or inquiries to my email faureleah@yahoo.com
